The approach
A specialist arrives knowing the series
Viking built the professional range for domestic kitchens, and it built it heavy: cast burner assemblies, sealed spark rails, doors on tensioned hinges, refrigeration trimmed into millwork. It rewards someone who has been inside the same series before, and it punishes guessing.

- A ticking burner, a warm fresh-food side and a dishwasher that quits early each have three or four plausible causes. The visit is spent narrowing them with a meter, not swapping the expensive part and hoping.
- Built-in, not free-standing
- A 48-inch range wedged between two cabinet runs and a column refrigerator trimmed into millwork both have to come out and go back without marking anything. That is a different job from wheeling out a slide-in.
- The number before the spanner
- You hear the fault, the part and the price while the panel is still off, and you decide from there. Nothing gets ordered or fitted on an assumption about what you would have said yes to.

What does the $89 service call cover?
The visit itself and a full diagnosis: the fault found, the part named, and the price to put it right quoted before anyone reaches for a tool. If you go ahead with the repair, the $89 comes off that price. If you decide not to, the $89 is all you owe and you keep the diagnosis.
Do you work on Viking equipment only?
Yes. Ranges, wall ovens, built-in refrigeration and dishwashers carrying the Viking name. Narrowing to one maker is what lets a technician arrive already knowing which spark module, damper motor or door hinge a given series uses, instead of reading the model plate and then reading a manual.
How soon can someone get out to me?
The line is answered around the clock and visits run 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, seven days. Cross-town traffic decides the rest: Toluca Lake and Tarzana sit close to where the van starts, while Windsor Square and Beverly Grove are easier to reach either side of the afternoon peak. You will be given a window on the phone rather than a promise nobody can keep.
My range clicks but will not light. Is that urgent?
It is worth dealing with quickly. A burner that clicks for a long spell before catching is releasing gas the whole time it clicks. Shut that burner off at the knob, use another one meanwhile, and get it looked at. It is usually a cracked spark module or a soaked igniter rather than anything structural.
The fresh food side is warm but the freezer is fine. Does that mean the compressor is dead?
Almost never. A dead compressor takes both compartments down together. One warm side with a hard-frozen other side points at air movement between them — the damper that meters cold air across, the evaporator fan, or a defrost fault icing the duct. Those are far smaller repairs than a sealed system.
Do you carry parts on the van?
The common ones: igniters, spark modules, thermostats and sensors, door gaskets, drain and inlet valves, fan motors. Control boards and cosmetic panels for a specific series are ordered against your model and serial number, which is why we ask for both when you call.
Is it worth repairing a range that is fifteen or twenty years old?
Usually, yes. The bodies are heavy-gauge steel and the burner hardware is simple and still supplied. What ages badly is electronics and door hardware, and those are replaceable. What would change the answer is a sealed-system failure on integrated refrigeration, which is the one repair that can approach the value of the unit.
How do I find my model and serial number?
On a range, pull the bottom drawer or the kick panel and look on the frame behind it. On a wall oven, open the door and check the left-hand jamb. On built-in refrigeration, look on the ceiling of the fresh food compartment or behind the lower grille. On a dishwasher, the plate is on the tub edge behind the door.
